E-mail bail order copies to Tihar jail: Delhi
HC
New Delhi, Feb 2 (PTI) For expeditious release
of the undertrials and convicted persons who were granted bail, the
Delhi High Court today directed all trial courts as well as its own
Registry to e-mail the copy of bail orders to Tihar jail authorities
for quick action.
A division bench of Chief Justice Dipak Misra
and Justice Sanjiv Khanna accepted the suggestions given by the Delhi
Legal Services Authority(DLSA) and said the bail orders should be
sent to jail authorities through e-mail so that the undertrials
should not suffer due to delay.
The Bench also accepted the DLSA''s suggestion
that the jail authorities inform the family of the undertrials/convicts
so that they would take steps to meet the bail conditions. (more)
